Preferred Water Conditions: Will acclimatize to a wide range of conditions. pH: 6.5-8.0

Temperature: Cold water-temperate between 10-25 deg C (34-72 deg F)

Care: A temperate species that must only be kept in aquariums or tanks not for release into any water coarse.

They will feed on a variety of flakes or pellets, preferably sinking. Bitterling have an unusual breeding behavior, they will lay their eggs in a swan mussel which protects them from predation.
