NT Labs Malachite – Treatment for Fungal Infections

When to Use:?NT Labs Malachite is recommended for use when fish exhibit symptoms of fungal infections caused by Saprolegnia. Signs of infection include white growths on the body, head, or fins, possibly with green or brown discoloration. Malachite can be used in conjunction with Formaldehyde for a more effective treatment of fungal infections.

How to Use:

  1. Test Water Quality:

    • Use NT Labs Test Kits to assess the water quality in your pond.
  2. Mixing the Dosage:

    • Mix the appropriate dosage of Malachite in a clean bucket of pond water.
  3. Application:

    • Pour the mixed solution evenly over the surface of the pond.
    • Leave the treatment in the pond for 7 days.
  4. UV Filtration:

    • Switch off UV filtration until the treatment period is completed.
  5. Aeration:

    • Ensure proper aeration of the pond during the treatment.
  6. Repeat Dose:

    • If a repeat dose is deemed necessary, carefully check the diagnosis using the Diagnosis Tool. Consider using a different medication if needed.
    • Allow 7 days and perform a partial water change before re-treating or using a different medication.
  7. Observation:

    • Always treat when you have time to observe fish and take appropriate action in the unlikely event of a bad reaction.
  8. Combination with Formaldehyde:

    • If required, Malachite can be mixed with Formaldehyde before adding to the pond. Follow the instructions provided.

Warning:

  • Do not use with orfe, rudd, tench, or sturgeon/sterlet.
  • Avoid use if the water temperature is above 30?C.
  • Do not use in hot, humid, thundery conditions.
  • Do not mix medications, except when combining with Koi Care Formaldehyde.
